Default Alltrax Reactor Lithium Setup

Well after a few hundred emails and a few messages on Facebook I finally got some details!

They are going to offer chargers no word on price or size.

They will be offering batteries. No details yet.

Their BMS will be able to be customized to work with other battery types but you will need to provide some specs.

The BMS will be placed in an XCT controller housing.

It will be able to handle at least 14 cells maybe more.

They will be offering a dash mounted SOC. $140.00

The BMS has a list price of $600 as of now not sure what dealer pricing will be.

BMS will talk to the controller via CAN bus

BMS will be powered by pack voltage from the tow/run switch.

Sounds a bit expensive, but I know it is early in the process.

I'm glad I didn't wait for this setup. I mean the plus side is for dealers. They have a turn key setup to offer customers without the liabilities of a diy setup.

I haven't got dealer pricing either hopefully it's much better than retail.

I think $3k for a drop in setup is not unreasonable from the vendor side. I’m sure the price is heavily influenced by the battery cost. In order to mass market it, they need a battery source that’s more reliable then the used electric car cell market. Plus they need to get new batteries and not used modules with varying lifespan left.

Now is the market willing to bear that price point on the consumer side, who knows. I think if a company could come up with essentially a drop in setup for $2,500 it would be very popular.
