BMS for 36v leaf conversion
There's a ton of info about going with a 7 or 14 module Nissan Leaf conversion, but not as much info for us 36v folks.
If I pick up 10 2nd gen Leaf batteries (connect as 10s/2p, I believe?) what "size" BMS do I need? I'm a little confused about the number of cells that need to be monitored. Would a 12-cell BMS cover the 10 modules or do I really have 20 cells (since each module has 2s/2p)? |

Re: BMS for 36v leaf conversion
Leaf modules are already 2p, so connecting two in parallel and 5 in series makes it 10s4p. If indeed you parallel each two modules before connecting them in series (as opposed to 5 in series and then paralleling them), then you need a BMS capable of managing 10 cells, and 12-cell one like you suggested would work.
