How suppliers can be different...
Last year, I changed my primary clutch by one ordered from CartPartsPlus. If one of the thread for the cover screws was defective when I received it, I installed 3 helicoils and nothing else to say except I am very satisfied after more than a year using it.
Last month, my friend had the same trouble on his exactly same cart. I do not remember why, but he ordered from Golfcartking… what an error!!! When we opened the clutch he received, we discovered:
...in a word, if perhaps the two clutches have the same "external picture" on the two web sites, they are definitely not the same part (even at the same price); one is perfect and the other is a scrappy piece of garbage! We also ordered two belts. I installed one on mine, and 3 miles later, the belt was already loosing wires so… I removed it; another piece of garbage! Again, a GBoost belt ordered later from CPP and it was ok! If both suppliers are sponsors of these forums, they definitely do not carry the same kind of parts!!! Be extremely vigilant before ordering: neither the fact a supplier is sponsor (or not) and/or the picture and/or the price are trustable information... I shall never order again from Golfcartking, as from DIYGolfCart it is the same company. We tried to contact them and of course... they never answered! Now, seing the price to change everything on this new clutch, it is almost cheaper for him to loose his money and order another clutch... hopefully from CPP! |

Re: How suppliers can be different...
sorry this took so long to get back to you i was fishing in canada.the clutchs we sell come direct from comet and we have very few problems. i first heard about your stripped bolts after toms death and assumed it was taken care of. the other guys parts i dont know about ,there are many manufactures trying to sell us junk everyday they copy something that works and screw it up.no qualty controll no testing .thats why we dont sell clones. we also give a warrenty on our parts 1 year on comet and gboast stands behind all his stuff better than anyone i know. as with anything manufactured there can be bad ones .we were one of the first distributers of glen erlandsons belts and tom worked with him testing new products and i still do. he builds the best stuff you can buy anywhere bar none and he backs them up.sometimes the interweb and the tec guys just start bitching before they know what caused the issue, parts are junk even though he has a g14 with weak or no motor mounts or no limiter cable on the front left mount which eats up belts like a grinder.thats also why we have a toll free number with a real person thats worked on carts for 30.years.we are adding two new numbers soon and another shipping location in mi i talk better then i type so please call with any questions thanks bruce

Thanks Bruce for your answer...

...but what happen to my friends is another story !!! --- I received several PM on this post, from nice to... ugly! The thing is not to go with the cheapest, but to a minimum of quality vs price. There are good aftermarket parts and accessories not provided by golf cart manufacturers, and suppliers (like yourself) have their role to discover and select the right ones and eliminate the scrap! IMHO, you are successful on it, and I must not be alone on these forums to simply say "thanks a lot!". This week, my friend will order a CPP05 clutch with a severe duty GBoost for sure *smile Thanks again & have a nice day! |

Thank you Bruce for filling the void that Tom left. CPP NEEDED A VOICE!
And the simple fact that you guys make it a point to carry Quality Parts. It's a customer service that is bar none. Are Vanguard still made in Wisconsin, somebody told me that the Daihatsu is now making them? Are they no longer American-made? |

Re: How suppliers can be different...
Just a quick note to underline how Cart Parts Plus is really a valuable supplier having a really good after-sale service.
As I am re-sending everything from my US address to Philippines, it is very difficult to return items in case of any trouble (cost would often be more expensive than the part itself, plus customs, etc...), but they are so reacting to customers' trouble. Just to say... Thank you Bruce, Lorie & all your team!!! |
