Re: Happy Independence Day!!!
Happy Independence Day America!
I chose some photos to reflect what I think about every year on July 4th. To be honest, every time I see a US Flag I think of things like this. When I drive by a flag, and it happens several times a day, I always salute, always. When I take a walk and see a flag, I stop and salute. I've seen others do the same. When I see a torn flag flying, I stop and let the homeowner/business owner know. They usually take it down and order a new one. If I see a small "flag on a stick" laying on the highway berm, I stop and pick it up. I have dozens in my garage. Every time I see a veteran wearing a WW2 hat, I salute and thank them. Usually an old timer. Usually they shake my hand and thank me back. Every time I see someone in uniform, I thank them. Sometimes they stop and shake my hand. They always give me a nod. The point is....I have a lot of U.S. pride. I have good feelings when I see the flag, when I see anyone displaying the flag or military emblems. I have relatives and friends who have fought, spilled blood, and died for this country. So what does this flag mean to me? It's everything. These colors run deep. These colors represent everything I stand for. I'm proud to live in the United States of America. I'm proud to have served. I'm proud to celebrate on this great day. Anyone who curses this country or curses this flag should move away to a place where freedom doesn't exist and people have no pride in their country, for they know not what America stand for. Today is a day we should ALL celebrate! Be safe! God bless America! Slo |
