Default Kawasaki Mule 1000

Hey everyone, I have a first year model Kawasaki Mule1000 project that I just do not have time to work on. As stated, it is the first year produced; I think 1988 or maybe 1989 (if anyone knows for sure, feel free to update this). It was running about a year and a half ago, but it needed the carbs torn down, cleaned up and put back together. I took it on with the idea of either putting in a “real” Kawasaki motor 650F (the Mule motor is based on the motorcycle 650) or a B&S Vanguard, but I just do not have the time to do any of this. So here are some details.

The Good – steering, brakes, upholstery bed, and frame are all good. Also, it comes with the complete owner's / service manual.

The Bad – needs new tires all around, needs battery, engine currently not running, lights will need to be redone.

I would like to get $500 for it as I could part it out for that much. I live a little over an hour WNW of Houston Tx. PM me with any questions. John

Big correction, this engine is based on the Kawasaki 450F engine, NOT a 650 (I do not know where that came from, sorry). John

Just picked up by the guy I work for out of Houston. Headed to set in his garage for a couple weeks and then heading home too Missouri to become my next project.

Thanks again John for all the patience and answers to my questions.

Ray, I've not really been looking for another project. But, I have wanted something with both a locking differential and independent rear suspension.

While I know that of all the big name UTV's the Mule isn't the fastest or eye catching but a good solid vehicle. It will be perfect for the type things I will do with it.

I'm looking forward to getting it here and doing some work on it. I already have some ideas of where to start just from the descriptions of it.

Once I get it home and actually get started on it, I'll start it's own thread.

I would have loved to have something like that when I had 2.2 acres of land in VA and heated with wood. There is a nearby animal vet that has a weekend home here on the island that drives a mule that is the same color.
