New Cart, need some help!
Hi everyone! Longtime lurker, second cart. First one was an old Yamaha that I put a B&S 24HP in thanks to everyones help in here.
Now onto the next project :) I picked up this cart from a shop, it was built in '06 as their "shop show cart". I don't know much about it, and I'd love some help getting it figured out. The previous owner wasn't too forthcoming on details, and I think he was not ready to sell it so I didn't push it. Here is what I know: 390cc Robin motor Custom frame and suspension Not much else :) It has no issue going up steep hills and it feels like 35mph at full throttle. It was running a bit rough, it had sat for a while, so I removed the carb and cleaned it out. Then it idled nice, started fine and ran well. One major question is, when I am at full throttle, after about 2 seconds, it loses power and slows down, the motor seems like it is missing, or maybe running out of fuel? If i back off the throttle, it comes right back. I also noticed a bit of oil coming out of a tube from the case that runs back into the carb, is that correct? Any advice or info would be appreciated! I have no idea what brand this cart even is :) No idea about spindles or rear end, brakes, anything.. Thanks everyone! |

Brakes and primary look stock. What's up with the shaft and pillow block bearing on the secondary?

Re: New Cart, need some help!
That looks more like an old honda gx670
Than a Robin engine. Cool cart, looks like it was well built. |

Re: New Cart, need some help!
Thanks guys, the builders did a great job with the frame and suspension.
Not sure about the pillow block, maybe they thought it needed more support... Pretty sure brakes are stock, they work ok. I tightened them up a little. I've never heard of a Robin engine before buying this cart, thanks for the info. It does have a keihin carb on it, I didn't see any adjustments on it for jetting or anything when I cleaned it. I'll research the honda gx670 too, thanks for the tip. Anyone have any ideas about the full throttle, high rpm missing issue? |

I can see it was based on a Yamaha G22. Nice build work and detailing Not much experiance with Honda's, but I believe they have an ignition rev limiter.
