gx340 or gx390
Purchased a 1999 Club Cart missing the motor. Can't decide if the gx340 will have enough power or do I need to go with the gx390. The cart will be used around the yard and down at the hunting property. Not looking for speed, but it needs to be able to climb steep hills. Is there much difference between the two motors. Been looking at Vegas Carts- was going to get the conversion kit and 780 clutch with 1 inch belt.

Re: gx340 or gx390
You'll be happy with the Vegas Carts 460 engine and kit. Many here have used it and haven't heard of anyone being unhappy yet. I have one and it was way more powerful than stock and it climbed steep hills with authority. The 780 clutch is ideal for that powerplant. Don't forget your secondary clutch. If it's old and worn, get a new one, you'll be glad you did. If you get a performance secondary clutch it will add to your hill climbing power.
