Precedent V twin and gears otw
Hi all, had a nice talk with Tom at CPP this morning and he was kind enough to help me with some questions about putting a vanguard 18 in my precedent. (he actually recommended the 18 over the 23 and saved me 250$ I was planning to spend) 8:1 gears and a timing advance key are coming also. now that the weather is turning colder here in IL seems like a good time to start getting the cart ready for next year. already have rims/tires and a long travel lift. cant wait to get the kit and start on it. with everything going on ill rework some of my stereo install, the sub remote wire was grounding out and blowing the fuse. limped it along but now ill have an opportunity to do it right

Re: Precedent V twin and gears otw
Parts are in and look GREAT! (thanks CPP and tom) too bad they are still in the box. making myself finish some other projects before I get started on it otherwise they'll never get done, but its amazing how much I can get done on stuff I don't want to do when im working towards something I do want to do. pictures and stories to come (soon I hope)

Re: Precedent V twin and gears otw
for some reason I cant post pictures, ive taken a bunch, but no luck uploading them. cart is in a ton of pieces. motor is out, rear end is out with axles pulled waiting for gears to go in and I promise im going to figure out a posi for a club car unitized rear end that doesn't cost $350! got a ton of clean up before I start putting the motor in but also ive got rev kit, billet push rods, equus tach, and a governor to trash for it.
now that ive got the rear out I can figure a way to lift the rear more than 6" and even the front and rear at about 8" of lift. lots of parts available for ezgo but a precedent creates several issues since this post started, ive had my 3rd eye surgery this year, insulated, installed a furnace, osb sheated, new electric and painted my garage. it was negative 11 degrees today here in IL but a nice comfortable 65 in the garage with satellite tv too. pictures to come when im not so computer illiterate. |

Sure would love to see those pics. Why did he recommend the 18 over the 23? I would think for only $250 more it would be a no brainer

Re: Precedent V twin and gears otw
he said the 18 would make enough power to make me mess my pants anyway. said to save the money and use it towards the gears for the rear end since it gets all jacked up with the opposite engine rotation
