16hp vs 18hp carb

Just curious....would putting a 18hp single barrel carb on my 16hp vanny have any benefit? Would it mount up? Thanks

I think they are the same carb.

They are identified by a colored dot(or none) on the main body.

It appears that they both use the same carb.

Might be worth it to pick one up to tinker around with.....do you know if it will bolt directly onto the 16hp manifold?

The venturi is larger on the 18.

I have a 14, 16 and 18 carb. I just went out and took all three apart.
I measured them, and the 14 has a 13mm venturi(stamped 130), and the 16 and 18 both have 17.5mm venturis(stamped 175). The pilot jet is the same in the 16/18 carbs. I can't tell if the main jet is the same because I can't get them out.

Maybe I will try to upgrade to the 18 until I can afford the 2 barrel swap
