Default Picked up an 18hp Vanguard!

The other day I told you all about trading for a 25hp Kawasaki engine. This engine was part of a couple that I found listed on a fairly local Craigslist.

The guy told me he had someone that was going to buy the 18hp Vanguard and I told him if he didn't hear back from the guy he'd let me know. Well today I was talking to him about picking up the 25hp engine and asked about the 18hp. He said he hadn't heard a word from the guy. So I offered him the original trade and $100 for both. He said that would work for him.

So, Friday I'll meet him halfway between us to pick them both up.

The Vanguard was running good when he pulled it so shouldn't take much to have running again.

I'm stoked to get such a deal on them both and now will have to be on the hunt for a cart for another BB build sometime in the future. The wife will love me.........

I already have the Pug side by side with 18hp, the G1 I'm going to install the 25hp kawasaki in and the G2 that I'm building to install the 992cc Generac in. Plus I have the Cushman still. Ohhhhhhhhhhhh so many projects. I love it.

So now the search is on for a non-running G2 or G9. Least that's what I'll start out looking for.

Well, I'm a wheeler and dealer. Learned from the best, my dad.

I traded a torpedo heater I picked up at auction for pretty much nothing, for a 20 gauge shotgun. Trading the shotgun for the 25hp Kawasaki and $100 more for the 18hp Vanguard.

Still don't have them. The guy lives about 4 hours from me and we can't get our timing right to meet half way. It looks like Monday may be the day now.

I wanted to start pulling the 8hp out of the G1 and start getting it ready, but so far haven't. I want the engine in hand before I start that.

The plan is too also install another set of 400EX shocks on the front for a double setup. I need to beef up the front. Anyone that has a lifted G1 probably knows why!

I'm looking forward to seeing this build. There's only a few g1 four strokes on here and even fewer V-twin builds. Are you gonna install a rev kit?

Here you go Field......... This is after I did my swing arm drop moving it down and back.

The plan is that I'm going to install the 25hp Kawasaki in this one. I'm not sure yet what I plan to do with the 18hp Vanguard. Eventually it will probably end up in a cart even if it isn't in one of mine.
