24 hp honda install into Yamaha G2
i have taken the plunge into big block mania. purchased the engine, key switch and muffler. i am ordering the comet 1190 clutch in a couple of days but my questions is regarding the fuel pump. do i need to keep it or can i just take the hose straight from the gas tank and connect it to the fuel inlet. also due to my lift i am going to have to make my own motor mount to try to keep the engine level. any suggestion? I will try to take some pictures this weekend.....thanks for any assistance you can provide..

I know more about the Vanguard engines but I believe you will need your fuel pump. On my G9 to level out the engine I dropped the front of the swing arm.

You can use the stock pump or get a mikuni/walbro/B&S like they use for gokarts. Would recommend unless the entire tank is always above the carb.
I dropped the front mount 1.25 using a piece of tubing to level the clone I did, but the lift is not that high just enough for 22s. Also used the stock mounts you can pretty much see it in the photos listed below. Two pieces bar stock is all I used, its listed around page #3 how I did it all in that post. Hey I posted the photos back up for my clone- last post: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-y...thread-11.html 1190 is a comet clutch, actually a salisbury they bought out long ago. It is larger diameter so it has a little more top speed. |

Wow you are correct, I got caught on that one. But someone might find it searching, it may tell them what they need to know.
