Default vanguard 14

Had someone give me a 14 hp vanguard last night. Not sure what's wrong with it yet but it has spark & turns over so I'm going to attempt to start it with starting fluid and see what it does. My question is I've been wanting to repower my CC for a while but actually wanted a 20hp would this be a worthwhile swap if the motor is good?

Any V-twin is worth the swap, especially a FREE one! Install a rev kit, open up the exhaust and replace the carb with a 16/18hp version and you will be happy.

Sounds good thanks
I may end up with a G2 Yamaha also so would that be an easier swap than the CC? Also will I have to lift the cart to fit the twin under the seat?

IMO the G2 is the better cart for the swap. Yes, you will need a lift for the G2.

Since I don't want to lift the G2 I guess I will have to start saving for parts to lift the CC if the engine turns out to be any good

What year CC? 97+ are reverse motor rotation and have to drive forward in reverse. Gear change probably needed for it for that reason
