Default Hi, New to forum got a new 6 seater with 20hp Vanguard

Hi new to the forum.
We just bought a EZ Go stretch 6 person cart that has a 20 hp Vanguard in it. It needs some help but going to be a good project. It already has some goodies on it, so I started looking for a good forum to read for other builds.
I am excited to get started on it. The engine runs good but the starter needs some love and wiring is very bad on the whole thing. For a 20hp engine it seems to be a little lacking on power.

My back ground is in EFI Tuning, I own a shop in AZ where we engine dyno and chassis dyno stuff with lots of HP. The reason for the cart is to pull/deliver guys to the starting line when we race our ProMod 41 Willys that has twin turbos.

So I want to turbo and EFI the cart as well, for me that will be the easy part.

Right now I am trying to decipher the engine code info so I can get a new starter and starter solenoid for it. I have been on line with Briggs and read everything on here and no one can point me in the right direction. I have a picture of the tag on the engine but the type has too many numbers I am told by Briggs
.
Do you guys have a source of someone who can help, and a good place to purchase the parts we may need along the way. For now we need a starter.

since I can't post links to pics here is the tag number on the red cover
Model 351447
Type 916364 no dash or spaces here
Code 071795

5 more days and I will post some pics

Welcome to BGW!
The "type" should be 4 numbers followed by a letter/number and a number.
ex.... 1147-A1 or 1147-01.

And, the "code" is typically 8 digits.

First off, welcome to the forum.

There aren't any type or code numbers that come up even close to what you have. I looked up the starter for that model number and came up with two numbers an 846451 with a steel ring gear, and an 795121 with an aluminum ring gear. I looked at 3 or 4 different types and codes and they all listed the same starter.

The funny thing is, and I will post as soon as I have the 7 days to post a link. I have a Briggs tag that is factory riveted to the cover with the model, type ect right on it. I get what it should be but that isn't what is on the tag. Wish I could post the pic

That's a new one.
You should be able to cross-reference any of the 35cu.in. parts for it.

Yeah, that is what I keep getting. No one seems to know any details and keep telling me it is not a OEM part number. It sure looks like one to me.
