Talking EZGO to 16hp Clone & More

My 2003 TXT EZGO is getting close to trial run. This all started as a father & sons project and it still is, it's just growing everytime we turn around .
The Robin engine was running great when we pulled it and if everything goes well with this conversion, I'll be selling it soon.
So far we have the 16HP PowerMax clone of a Honda, but I'm not sure which Honda they copied. The engine mount did not match perfectly, so new holes were added. The forward & reverse cable had to find a new angle, so we quickly made new brackets. They still need painting.
When we added the high performance driven clutch spring, we made a tool to put that back together. First we tried to stand on it, but we were not heavy enough and our feet were too big. We used a threaded rod with nuts on both ends to clamp it in place, it worked great. I can take a pic of this if anyone is interested.
Having fun.
Bud

Thanks Ron. Here is a pic of the Jakes Long Travel. There were some issues with this, but it is all working now.
Our dog Blue has been a big help in making sure that no squirrels or chipmunks could attack us during our project.

Blue is a Weimaraner, and they are natural born hunters. He has caught a couple of birds and several squirrels in our yard; he eats the whole thing!
We watched him stalk and jump a bird one afternoon. It's amazing at how fast he is.
I wonder if he will be able to keep up with the cart when it's finished.

Are you keeping the stock exhaust and tank on there or are there other plans?

We will be using stock exhaust for a little while, the something custom in the future. Same with the fuel tank, we will be either going back to the original or an external gravity. My sons want to rig up some kind of snorkel for the air intake as well. The electric start system came with a cheesy key. I want to add some wires and use the original EZGO key. There is still work to be done on the choke and throttle cables to get them back to working. I think we have a plan that will work, we just need more warm, dry, and daylight hours.
