Default big block vangaurd decisions to be made

Well for a little over a month now i have been building another cart without sharing what im doing but now i have dilema. The purple cart i built with a v twin 2 barrel with a 23 hp cam is now reffered to a "Obnoxious" is just that a grass ripping and gravel throwing ,black stripe making *******. everyone likes it but it's just to over the top. so now im building another v twin and i have the parts to make it another over the top engine but was wondering about possible running it stock or just advancing the timing a little. i know i sold a few stockers to some members and they were happy with it and was just wondering who could chime in on a stock with governer. to start with we are dealing with a 43 hour engine out of a genset and i am swapping the crank out now its a 570cc briggs vangaurd super clean low hour engine. either way im going to end up building another over the top engine since i have a roller rocker engine sitting here right next to the current engine im just not sure how wild i want to go with this one , btw it's going into a txt with a jakes 6 " axle lift

Mines not in a cart, but I have an 18hp Vanguard in a side by side called a Pug. it's 4 wheel drive.

The engine is stock with about 1000 hrs on it. I just did a valve adjustment, tune up and oil change. I also adjusted the drive belt.

This engine also still has the governor on it as from the factory.

The engine runs great and I'm guessing has a top speed of about 25mph or so. A bit more going down hill. I've pulled a fully loaded 6x12 cargo trailer around with no problem other than had to put in 4 wheel drive since I had it hooked to a hitch on the front.

Overall, if you don't need crazy speeds then in stock form this engine does everything I need/want it to do with flying colors.

Rich, that 16 you sold me is still stock. I've been loving it. Very smooth. Very quiet. Very manageable for anyone to drive. Yet still very capable. Best powerplant my cart has had yet. Do I want more power? Of course, what guy doesn't want a grass ripping gravel throwing monster, right? But do I NEED more power. Absolutely not. This cart will do whatever I need it to work wise, it's still fun to drive, it has the torque to get it done on the trails etc.

So.....the question for you is.....what are you NEEDING vs WANTING. You already know you can build a monster. But does your daughter need that?

true on that one Andy, i think im going to just go stock and open up the jet and throw in a little timing , 4k rpm should be enough without springs and retainers , she likes the gas pedal so if i limit her she should be ok
