Need help with home made muffler post
I have been searching for the last five hours and can not find it anywhere. It was a post where someone made a muffler by cutting a 18" muffler in half, cutting slats in the pipe and bending them in with a punch and covering the ends and sides with some sheet metal. ANY IDEAS???? THANKS!!!

Re: Need help with home made muffler post
I got the idea from a guy on youtube. He put his on a lawn mower. If you search around on there you can find several different versions of it, one guy even makes a homemade glass pack. The guy I copied drilled his holes. I used the punch so the sounds would have to bounce off each other and maybe tone it down a little. I have thought about making another one and fill the space between with some fiberglass or steel wool and see how it sounds.
Post a video when you get done so we can hear how it sounds. |

The cart is a bit muddy but it sounds pretty good. I didn't put anything inside it though. I hope this link works.

Re: Need help with home made muffler post
Just weld a few "V"s in there the exhaust has to go around. A certain popular chambered muffler does that. It does end up a tinny sound, if you pack glass in there it will mellow it out but that does not get rid of the rumble. Great job though, looks cool!
