Default V twin question

Would a Kohler ch20s drop in to a 98 workhorse? Is the rotation correct? Are there many mods for the kohler? Tha KS in advance.

There is no such thing as a "Big block drop in". It can be done fairly easily though.
The CH20 has a CCW rotation. Your stock motor should be the same.

I know they are not that simple, bulefore I picked it up I wanted to be sure it would do for me what say a vanguard or something would give. I always was a big kohler guy.

Kohler is my favorite motor, but for use in a golf cart, I recommend the Vanguard because of the ease of modification. There are a few ways to mod a Kohler, but not many.

Why would somebody hotrod a Workhorse? A Kohler CH20 would be reliable and have more than enough wheaties, no mods required.

Lakota racing and midwest super cub have all sorts of high performance parts. The kohlers seem to be the favorite of the tractor pulling crowd.

Check with Zach kerber for kohler stuff. I've been chatting with him about my ch18 kohler. So far he's offered me the most professional help.

And if you want to hotrod whatever, do it. I'm sure some people don't like carryall's but they are my favorite. And any cart with a v twin is a whole lotta fun. A suped up v twin is even better.

Also there is parts for whatever you want to do for kohler, it's just not as amateur freindly as Briggs. Like you don't just find "kits". I'm kicking around spending some $ on my kohler, billet rods, roller cam, billet flywheel, valve springs. Lots of power and safe to 8000+rpm.

I don't know that much about Kohlers,... I've had a few in lawnmowers and had great luck with them.

What I know about Briggs engines, a simple timing advance key and port and polish the intake/exhaust will make a worlds of difference. Don't remove the governor with-out putting a rev kit in it.

If you are going V-twin the cart has to be lifted for clearance. The Vanguard is probably the best motor performance wise, if you want to pony up the funds to do it. We beat ours up and it still does wheelies but it depends on what you are using it for. V twins have twice the parts to work with.

Here is an option for you:
