Default what's louder?

What's louder? V twin or 25 h.p clone? I'm looking for a quiet exhuast and consider a few options you guys came across but was unsure how a v twin sounds compared to a clone. So when I see your videos I know if my clone is louder then a v twin or via versa. Opinions?

You might have to qualify that somewhat.Milled heads and big cams increase sound levels. Many clone are modified at the get go, but in general more cyls=s less harsh sound.

Both are loud, but the sound is different, a Vtwin has more of a low Harley type growl, while a clone sounds like a pack of pissed off bumble bees.
Maybe a small car muffler or something similar would work??

If you ask me a large single is always louder, I think because its a larger cylinder over two smaller ones, but I don't think the difference is that much. To get quiet there are some threads on here. Some use car mufflers, a tailpipe on the muffler helps, some use generator mufflers, some use tractor mufflers. If you value power then make sure the muffler is for as much or more power than your engine, example: use a 20-25hp muffler on your 13-20hp clone. Twins can sound cooler, but I'm not going to complain about my clone. I run a quietflow car muffler but its only quiet at low throttle then it sounds more like an atv or lawnmower level of sound....but less than a loud atv/utv. It has no tailpipe on it right now.
