'87 club car engine mod
Hey guys I was thinking about boring my '87 club car engine and milling the head. I know I can get the rings and piston for it but not sure about the rod. Has anyone ever tried to mill the head before? Thanks guys.

What are you trying to achieve? More power?

Yes more power more speed but somewhat cost efficient.

Boring the cylinder and milling the head wouldn't be my first choice.
Replacing the stock carb with a larger one is the biggest bang for your buck. |

Re: '87 club car engine mod
I just don't want to spend 3,000 on a new motor if I can beef up my stock one.

A cheap alternative would be a clone motor. |

If you search this forum, you will find everything you want to know about a clone motor. There are other options too.

Re: '87 club car engine mod
Ok so first off I've done some research on the clones the question I have now is I still use my cart for golf so I don't want to tear up a golf course but I want more speed and torque for hills and just to be quick. Lol how loud are the clones and really would it be bennifical to use one. I also understand that one question will be how fast do you want to go and the answer I'd faster then everyone else without tearing up the grass! Lol
