Default 992cc Generac v twin... yes or no?

I have the opportunity (as far as I know) to pick up a generac 992cc engine that has about 10 hours on it for a great price. I know there has been one or 2 that have done it but I can't find a loy of info on it. It will be going in an 88 ezgo marathon with a newer style ezgo transaxeI picked up from a member on here. Where can I find parts, and my biggest concern at the mmoment is the tapered shaft on it. What can I do about this? I believe it's bigger than 1". Is there a clutch that will work with this? I'm new to this and learning a lot from you guys. I really want this engine but it might be above my skills and budget to install. Any and all info is appreciated!

The output shaft being tapered kinda sucks.

It might matter how cheap your getting it for.

I believe one person had the shaft machine to 1", I also think you get a clutch with an 1-1/8" size. Seems like som on posted about exactly this but I can't remember who.

I had mine turned to 1" A member of the forum did it for me, The crank is a very easy issue to solve, you can have it turned down or get a new crank with a 1" shaft.

I believe I saw it too Streetbu but I cant remember either. Jeff70 I thought about turnimg it to 1 inch also. This motor would be a monster. Im not sure I need it lol. Im not sure how it will go trying to fit the engine under the seat either. I know its possible but lots of work. Maybe I would be better off with the predator 670. Now if I did that... is there a cradle available for my cart and the predator v twin engine?

Ask and Ye shall receive! This guy got one running and I actually saw it....... I have one of these engines and also a new carb, intake a few other parts. I was going too build one of these beasts but not sure when I'll get around to it.

If there is any interest, I'll dig thru and see what all I have as I could use the $$$ for other projects more than I need this project. Engine has about 20 hours on it if I remember correctly.

I'd be willing to sell off all I have and I have a place found to get a new crank with the 1 1/8" straight for about $130.

Here is a link to the one actually built and in use!

Genny powered G2!

Man, that's a big-boned gal! lol

FWIW, a 42mm carb is WAY more than 1000cc@4k needs.
Mod 390-460 singles bore carb to 24mm. Two would equal a 34mm single.
A Keihin CV from a HD is still big but the vacuum slide will help a lot.
