Generator not charging helppp plzz
Ok so heres my problem i have a hyundai gas golf cart the motor went bad so i put the duromax 16hp into it and fabed up the starter/ generator so tht i can still charge my battery better than the 3amp the motor comes with but see i didnt take a pic of how all the wires went to charge it so can some one plzzzzz help me out of this ive been searching nd searching with no luck it realy is bothering me i have to charge my cart just about ever day

Is it working to start it? There should be one lug that make voltage in the 13v range. One lug is a ground. One is from the starter solenoid 12v.

I just think its wired wrong like the charging isnt in a complete circuit would it help if i took a picture of how its wired

Yes, pics help. But answers to questions help more.
1. Is it able to act as a starter and spin the engine? 2. If so, what leads you to believe it's not working? Dead battery? 3. Have you used a volt meter to check the output? |

2. Dead battery after i start it more than 10 times and run like plus all the wires dont look like they use to tht why im kinda lookin for a pic of how they r wired 3.no |

The small green and red wires do the charging, they need to go to the voltage regulator, and it needs to be hooked to 12v properly so it can sense when charging is needed. IIRC if one is hot with 12v it makes it charge. They only charge good at fast idle and more, you will see the voltage go up around 13.5 when charging. Check the yamaha G9 diagram as posted in the yamaha stikies and see if that helps you checking the VR, it should be similar. Check any fuses/etc.

Thx for the reply ill check everything out i kno the green and red wires are hook up right to the regulator but from the regulator to where ever else im unsure about
