CE, The engine running good without filter meens shes running rich. Could be from altitude and higher compression as motor breaks in but more than likely is due to restricted air filter. Since motor ran good for several hours now is running rich I bet air filter got just a touch of oil on it. Sometimes you can't even see it. If oil is light color it dosen't even discolor paper air filter and very very little oil is needed to make filter run rich. If you have ever dumped a very small amount of oil in cardboard box by the end of the day the whole bottom of the box will be discolored. The motor can draw air through paper but not wet paper. It makes the jetting appear a little fat. If removing filter worked K&N will cure the problem. That header will also flow more air so it should help with 7000 foot thin air. Now I wish we would have tossed it in the box with your header. Let me know and I'll send in the morning.

O.K. Tom I was being way too subborn, you were 100% correct about the filter,I changed it today and ran it for an hour,it runs very well,Also installed the timing advance key what a difference for 10 bucks! I am going riding with my son Friday morning and am looking forward to trying some hills and trails with the new engine.

Yeah the Timing Key is the best ten bucks ANYBODY will ever spend. Even the stock cart motor perks up. Still waiting for Ron to put his in, Come on Ron 1 hr work, results PRICELESS.

I ran my cart pretty hard on trails that we ride on all the time out at the cinder hills ohv area, and the cart ran awesome, way better than before, maybe the engine is breaking in, and the timing key really helps,my son is driving me nuts about getting a vanguard for his cart now.He doesn't have much interest in driving his cart now!
