Default 2bbl upgrade. Please chime in

For those of you who have put the 2 bbl carb on your vanny is it worth it? Will it make a decent noticeable difference on my 16hp? Where is the power felt in the powerband?

I haven't done it yet, but from reading and talking to other it is said to be the #1 upgrade, with better response and better power throughout.

Ok after searching more and reading is this what I need:
Nikki carb from a verticle 23 vanguard
intake from a horizonal vanny part# 690886 or 806023

If so besides a filter not sure what I should look for.

Bigger carb usually always help higher rpm power, allow more rpm. Most say its the most noticeable upgrade for stock parts upgrades.

I have a 23hp that came with a 2-bbl carb, but changed it out for a P/N 808626 that had adjustable Idle screws. AFTER I did it, I realized the new carb I had (Marathon1989 is the man) just had the idle screws covered by a blockoff covers. Do'h! I will say the ability to adjust the low/mid range fuel took out the "flat spot" in the mid-range.

Now, having said all this, I do believe the 2-bbls. start a little harder than singles, but performance is good.

Ok so any 2bbl carb from a 20hp on up will fit regardless if its horizontal or vericle right? And the black umulsion tube is the plastic part that under the carb right? Where do I get the adjustable needle kit?

Most 2-barrels will fit(with a 2-barrel manifold), but if you want to use an adjustable needle, you'll need the carb with the black emulsion tube body. The adjustable needle is a Walbro 100-506.

The 2-barrel carb is the single best upgrade you can make, besides removing the governor and installing a rev-kit. Power is realized all the way through the rpm range.
