New farm project
Well we needed something a little beefier than the Club Car for around our property, so I picked up a 2011 JD Gator 6x4 with a 3cyl diesel. Needs some work but that won't be a problem. I have new seats, need to replace 2 of the rear tires, replace cooling fan, add canopy and electric dump.

I'm sure we will love it around the farm, we use one at work all the time and it never lets us down...within reason. You know how my projects go man, slowww lol. But this should be a really quick one since i'm familiar with them to an extent. And the parts of it i'm unfamiliar with, I can get information on by just walking over to the "residential shop". |

Re: New farm project
Yeah sweet deal. Im sure with the gearing those have plus diesel torque and lots of traction it should be a beast. While browsing for carts on craigslist i see the gators pop up and people want stupid amounts of $ for old beat up ones.
Is it something like a yanmar diesel or a real JD motor? |

Re: New farm project
Started working on it today. The customer that traded it in stated that it would over heat after about an hour. First thing I noticed was radiator fins clogged with dirt, grass, etc. There's a homemade thermostat attached to the front radiator with zip ties, instead of replacing broken sensor. I think they fried the fans and relays with their rigging.
More to come but for now, pics |

Re: New farm project
I thought the same thing with mine. Send 12vdc straight to the fan to see if it is still good. Mine was. I have had the fan come on several times on hot days. Stays on even after the key is off, until the temp is low enough.

Re: New farm project
That's the first thing I tried, neither fan came on. Also load tested circuit, had 12v but wouldn't light the bulbs so I have more research and diagnosing to do.
