Default Team Rapid Response Clutch jerks

So I finally got my 20HP V-twin from performance V-twins running. Never Could get it running right. Ended up trashing the carb that came with it and got a new carb and It has to run on 110 Octane race fuel so it doesn't have spark knock, So now that I can actually Drive the cart when easing on the gas as easy as I can the cart spins out in reverse, same thing in drive, Real jerky take off, I purchased the Team Rapid response Clutch from carts parts plus. I know on their website it sdays that this clutch is made for them and it can handle 16-100HP. Im pushing somehwere between 35-50HP. What is the best solution for this, I see they sale weights and springs, what should I do to make it not so jerky?

I would call CPP. These clutch issues sometimes can be resolved quickly with basic adjustments to the belt and or idle speed etc. Tom has experience with this clutch and might be able to get you figured out quickly.

Just Got off the phone with Tom at CPP and he said there is no weights or springs for this clutch. I gave him the belt Part# and that was correct, He said after a few hours of use it should stop but ive had it on this cart for almost a year. just havent been able to dial the carb in.

Well, to be honest, he's the expert. I don't have any experience with that clutch. If your carb is not tuned right then maybe the rpm increase is just too fast? What engine/carb?

There is no reason to run on 110 octane unless something is set up incorrecly.
Even my supercharged Vanny only needs 99 octane.

How are you pushing 35-50hp with a 20hp Vanny?

I was wanting to know the same thing on the hp numbers. Did tom say he liked the rapid clutch for your set up?

I had it running on 87 octane but it had a spark knock, I havent tried 93 octane yet, was thinking of half and half next time I fill up. I was playing around with it last night and the clutch kicks in at 1600 like it said but the motor spins up to 2500 rpms so quick i think that might be the reason it jerks.
