1985 ezgo questions
I have a 1985 ezgo two stroke
golf cart. I think I am about done messing with this two stroke, and was thinking of an engine upgrade. I can find an engine easy enough. where would I go about finding a different rear end? donor cart? thanks for any help. |

Re: 1985 ezgo questions
after giving this some thought, I think
this is like asking someone where their secret fishing hole is located. |

Re: 1985 ezgo questions
No, there are lots of people on here that can help. Its been slow lately lot of people do carts stuff winter spring summer then lay off this time of year. Usually the best way is get a whole cradle and trans from a 4 stroke, similar model/body cart if you can, though usually with some brackets you can fit them anyway. I'm not a ezgo pro, but if the cradle is different you mock it up for the right location of your tires then make brackets to mount the cradle and shocks/springs. But I imagine someone has done this swap and can tell you much more, there may be another ezgo that fits easily I don't know.
Once you have the 4 stroke trans in there you have reverse gear, its just a matter of swapping in the engine you choose. You will need the cradle, trans, and secondary clutch usually. Where to find one is a good question. You can try dealers sometimes they have parts carts, you can search usual places like CL and ebay, some members here also have parts. |

Re: 1985 ezgo questions
You need to find out if the next 4 stroke model ezgo cradle will mount in there. Like I said you may need to make brackets. Some people put yamaha rear in or whatever since they are all similar size, but have to weld up brackets of course.
