Re: engine swap
That Lifan engine should do nicely if you use a 780 clutch. If you use the stock clutch it will perform smoothly but you'll be leaving some power on the table. Stock clutches are meant for golf courses, so keep that in mind.

Re: engine swap
I am planning on using the 780 clutch.
I will take lots of pics once I get all the parts here. |

Re: engine swap
Sounds like fun! There are some cheap parts you can put on the engine before you install it, if you are looking for more go power. For example you need to pull the flywheel to get the advance key in and hard to do in a cart usually, same for governor removal.

Re: engine swap
Some use the secondary, I don't know if the ezgo is different.

Re: engine swap
You can use the stock secondary. It's like the Yamaha G1 two stroke, it's designed to engage forward and backward. But if you only use it forward that would be fine. Make sure to use a brand new belt. Check the operation of the clutch, might be worth disassembling and inspecting since it will be off the cart anyway. Look at the sheaves, if there is any "dishing" on the surface it might need machined or replaced.
