Default Big Block options

I'm building a 1998 ezgo txt. Installing a long travel suspension and 26" tires. Also will be installing 8.1 gears. Just cant decide on the power plant. Here is the list of uses.
Campground cruiser so its got to be quite.
Can be used to run on the back roads where 35mph will be nice ( thats why I want the gears for less rpm )
Occasional off road trail riding.
And most important to look cool while doing all of the above lol

Cant decide on using the Predator 22hp or a 18hp Vanguard with a rev kit. Or any other combo that yall can think of.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Go with the Vanguard. Plenty of aftermarket parts available. The predator is too new to the market and there are no aftermarket parts currently available for it. Even with the high speed gears 35mph would be hard to see safely. If you want to save some money buy the Predator. If you want a good quality power plant that will last for years buy the Vanguard.

I just put a 23HP Vanguard kit from Cart parts plus in my 98 EZGO workhorse. I got it in the stock form and it has tons of torque and is scary fast and not too loud.

Just ordered a 18hp Vanguard with a rev kit and a quite muffler from cartsplus. Cant wait to see how it does. Going to order the 8.1 gears whenever I figure out which bearing I have. Cant wait!!!!

Wise choice. Nothing against the clone but without a rev kit you're not going to safely get the RPMs you need to see 35mph. Make sure you start a build thread

OK, scary may have been the wrong word to use but, he will be very happy with your kit and the ease of the installation. I know I am and I was surprised when I stood on it climbing up my driveway. I would even put a decal for your shop on it if I had one. Might even look good on the sides of the dump bed.
