Default Will it work?

Will the dial type tach that cpp has work on a 16 hp clone? Also how does it hook up?

My initial impression is that it will work, because it is a universal tach... How does it work? There's an inductive sensor that you have place around the spark plug cable.. The way that it measures the RPM is by inductive pick-up. It's actually pretty sweet and I definitely recommend it...

Please be aware that you need some slack on your spack plug cable in order to place the inductive pick-up sensor.. In my case, I am using a Vanguard 18HP from CPP and there is JUST enough slack... a bit less, and it would be very difficult to place the sensor around the cbale..

Hey Doolin, Did you end up using the tach on your clonie? How'd it work? Was there enough slack?

Yes, I used a digital one and the pickup wrapped around the spark plug wire. It works well.

I'm thinking I'm gonna try the inductive one on my clonie build because its big and provides instant feedback. Any idea if there's room on the DS carbon-fiber dashboards to drill a 3 3/4" hole?
