Vanguard Throttle Linkage
I've been looking for awhile now to images and ideas on how I should run my throttle linkage. All pictures that I find are broken links
Can people post some of their setups here in this thread for myself, and hopefully it will help people in the future too. Please post which V-Twin and what cart it is in. Thanks! Joel |

Re: Vanguard Throttle Linkage
Facing the same situation. Had stock carb last year. Put 2 barrel on it now. Used to pull from back side filter side of motor. Now it pulls from front of motor on starter side. I've seen posts before showing a disk attached to the throttle shaft and marked at closed and open throttle. I kind of remember it but I'd like to see how other people have done it

Re: Vanguard Throttle Linkage
I just hooked my carb up and I welded a large washer on the throttle shaft. The I used a thick wire from a clothes hanger.

Re: Vanguard Throttle Linkage
Back to intrnlstorms original post. When my carb was stock I ran the original throttle cable from the rear end governor. It pulled from the correct side and using the rear end governor arm (all governors removed) the throw was the correct length. Ditch all the bell cranks and rig it to the carb shaft. Simple clamp to hold the cable and it was setup. Doesn't get easier than it was

Re: Vanguard Throttle Linkage
I've been working on this for awhile. Finally got the throttle cable working properly. That's the stock Yamaha cable with the end mashed flat, cotter pin and washer to hold it to the throttle, and a heavier return spring. It looks bush league, but the throttle doesn't get hung up anymore. The cable stroke is perfect. It pulls from the passenger side.
