Default Completely new and need help with an 89 parcar

Hi there everyone,

I have been reading post after post and just wanted to see if someone would be able to give me answers.

I have an 89 parcar w/ self oiler HD Motor. The motor is old, weak, and really difficult and expensive ti get parts for.

My goal is to put in either a newer 2 stroke or figure out what i need to convert to a 4 stroke.

I dont need the cart to run in reverse so if I understand correctly i wouldnt have to change my rear diff. Correct?

Please let me know if anyone can help im really lost.

Thanks!!

Most people have done swaps on all of them, including 2 stroke to 4. The ones with the driven on the differential so the belt runs side to side in the cart can be a pain but have been done. Otherwise you can get a whole 4 stroke cradle/trans and mount it in your frame then you have reverse and likely a much better system to do the swap on. The clone is the cheapest swap as you can buy one for 300 give or take, its near twice the power of most stock carts, you can mod them too. You need to mount it in there but first you need to get a clutch on the clone with an adapter or find a different clutch, so you can line up the belt and find the belt size if different. Then its just a matter of fabricating an exhaust system, airbox, little wiring, throttle cable, that is about it.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the answers! I took it to a small engine repair shop and had everything gone thru. Carb cleaned, timing set, starter gen replaced etc.

Yet i still have very little speed and even less torque. The compression sat right at 90. As far as i know thats right. So at this point i think the motor just cant output any more.

Ill post a pic of the cart and engine compartment... Any ideas on what i need to get to swap everything would be appreciated!!

Thanks guys!
