One point to consider here is if you are running something like billet push rods and there is not enough valve lash something is going to break. In a car it is usually the push rod, rocker arm or rocker stud.Don't know enough about vanguard valve geometry or regrind quality to say what happened here.On my clone I have billet rocker arms, moly push rods along with a stud girdle. If I had insufficient valve lash what would break? Rocker stud would be my guess, but in reality I don't know.Of course flat tappet cams are flat tappet cams that is why they came out with roller cams.

I don't think that is wear. If it was wear that little corner wouldn't be there it would be rounded. When I raced go carts we had an outlaw cams that had ramps on the cam. When we went through tech it would check correct height. But when the motor is running it was giving a float effect. Height was .210 they would float valves .300/.350 depending on rpm.

I would check with the manufacturer of that cam to see what is going on.
I have tigged lobs back on cams playing around with timing and lift. It could be repaired.

I don't think it is wear either. The lobes are fractured. Why is the question.
