Default 23hp vanguard ezgo

hi,
don't think my last post went thru.i am new to the gas golf cart world.i have several issues i am dealing with,i am making this cart street legal,so i have already done several things.the lights are now located on the steering column and are wired direct,so they are not on key switch.i need to replace ignition switch how many prog switch do i need will a 2-3 prong work.also i have heard of pulling linkage off rearend that holds throttle cable, doing this removes tension off throttle,am i better off leaving it alone...thx in advance..by the way i am fairly mechanically inclined, have welder, plasma cutter and big hammers,,,lol,,any thoughts and pics are greatly appreciated as camping season is sneaking up and old lady is biting down.

The governor on the rear end/trans uses rpm to limit speed. It's adjustable, but you'll prob be limited to about 25mph or so at it's highest point. Most people will route the throttle cable directly to the carb.

The governor on the engine is internal, but you can loosen the bolt for it and it will effectively be eliminated. I run mine this way. With a rev kit your cart with 22" tires should go 30 mph without any trouble or damage. If you want more speed than that I'd recommend new 8:1 trans gears.
