Default Have to lift for V twin, Marathon?

I am thinking of putting a B/S V twin in my spare cart = a 94 marathon 4 seater. Am I gonna have to build a lift for it? It looks like I may make my motor plate from the pressure washer frame that the motor is still bolted to. I think I may put a 2 bbl on it and advance the cam one tooth and remove the governor is that about all it needs? I know the 780 is the best to go with but has anyone used the stock EZ-GO clutch? What about the S/G anyone make that fit in a EZ-GO? Thanks Jim

I'd say that you are gonna need the 4" lift. Your seat and or seat support will undoubtedly interfere....

Can't say in a Marathon, but I've done several Yamaha's that weren't lifted.

Yes, I had to lift 4" for an 18 hp vanguard in an e-z-go marathon.

Yes it sure can. On the Geep1 I modified the engine cradle to lower and level out the engine.

I welded a square tube across the front mount on my G9 to lower it, then the bars I used to mount the engine were welded under that tube and on top of the rear mount. (G9 has a front and rear mount to the engine that hangs between) This leveled it, you can do anything with a welder but you do have to watch for the clutch hitting the cradle or other interference when you lower it down. Its a yamaha but you get the idea. I put a car jack with a board on it under the engine area and set the clone engine on it with the clutch sitting on it. Then I moved it around to where everything fit like I wanted, and made the mount to fit there. For me this was one of the easier parts of the swap, which I did two of with no purchased parts as there were no kits then.

Look here for the pics of the engine bay with the jack under it and the bars I welded in (scroll down), for ideas.

Since this cart is gonna be used for golf, I thought about making a two inch lift or 2.5 and lowering the cradle [motor mount] down two inches. I guess the thing to do is quit thinking about doing something and do something. Jim
