Default Carbs for 16 hp clones

I see some 30mm carburetors on ebay. Has anyone put one of these on their clone. I was wondering if they would work. They are only listed for up to 250cc engines but also say they will fit any engine with 1 7/8 center to center bolts. I have not checked to see how big the carb is now but I wouldn't think it would be a 30 mm. I was looking at the Mikunis. Also I would think the throttle would be smoother.
