Default 24hp Kohler V-twin with carb problems

I'm looking for any advice or suggestions on swapping carbs on my 24hp Kohler V-twin. Not happy with the stock one.

How big do they need to be? I bought a CV carb for my clone its a 32mm, maybe they make larger ones for motorcycles?

Mikunis like we use on early harleys are fairly cheap and easy to tune. You probably need something like a 36 mm round slide. I have a 38 mm on my 1000 cc ironhead and it will pull 7000 rpms easily.

Is the carb in need of repair/cleaning? Or do you just want more performance?

More performance. It just doesn't have much mid-range.

You might want to look at midwest super cub's site. They sell some kind of tricked out carb for the kohler. They make some cool stuff.
