Custom build need ideas?
Hello fellas!
This spring I found these little 2 seater cars while I was work and bought some. They are just a little bit longer than a golf cart. They are pretty similar to golf cart suspention and everything. I got 15 bodies and 4 frames. So I just started cleaning up one of the frames and now time to start fabricating up everything. Im currently looking for a 88-94 gas ezgo rear axle and clutch. Then im debating on what to do for a engine. I was going to use a stock ezgo motor but want something with a little more power and torque. Anyone have any sugguestions on what type of motor would work best with the stock clutch and axle. |

Re: Custom build need ideas?
What did they originally have for a drivetrain? Or were they just a carnival ride car with no engine?
Your biggest challenge is going too be space for the engine and all the drive train components. It may be easiest to go with electric as far as space is concerned. Putting the batteries up front or squeezing them in spaced around the rear. It's really hard to say just how to set it up as it's hard to tell from the pictures just how much room you really have. I would love to have one of those to build. I can just picture it dropped with air bag suspension. Wide profile tires with deep wide wheel flares like on the cobras. Then a nice slick paint job. A lot of work but it could sure look so cool. As for the gas rear, does the one your looking at have reverse? Good luck on the build, it could be a really cool one. I look forward to seeing the progress on it as you move along. |

Re: Custom build need ideas?
Originally from what I could tell was a one cylinder motor going to a small belt driven transmission with a reverse. From the transmission to the rear axle was then chain driven.
I havent been able to find a axle yet but I would like to find one with reverse |

Re: Custom build need ideas?
From what i was told is that back in the 70s a company tried to build these as actual vehicles. They were street legal and the speedometer that was on them said they did 60mph. But they didnt last long and sold out. I cant find anything about them online. But i have to go get the rest of the stuff and he also has found tons of info on them.

Web, that's cool....... Knowing more about them is always a good thing. You have a good amount of them so I can see lots of projects.
Are they all broken in places like the front of the one you posted pics of here? There will be some fiberglass work I'm sure but well worth what work will be involved. I'm watching this one for sure. One of those little bodies would be a cool project for a motorcycle/ATV motor setup and double A-arm front end. |
