B&S Project
I just ordered the 23hp kit from CPP with hp cam and k&n filter for my 99 ez-go. I have a couple questions.
1. Would it hurt anything to put an oil filter relocation kit on the briggs to make oil changes easier? I could also use a 2 quart oil filter in order to increase the oil capacity of the engine. 2. For those of you who did the conversion and bypassed the cart's governor, what throttle cable did you use? I want to go straight from the box under the floor to the engine. |

Re: B&S Project
COOL!!! I used my stock Yamaha throttle cable. Oil filter shouldn't be a problem I believe.

Re: B&S Project
The answer to the throttle cable question is easy, isn't it. I didn't realize one came in the kit. CPP has thought of everything!

Re: B&S Project
I would say oil filter relocation is a great idea. I don't have the same engine frame that tom sells but on my ezgo it's a b*tch to get to the filter. I have to take a bar that goes to the rear end off to get to mine.

Re: B&S Project
A relocator is the way to go! Here's mine.I have the part number somewhere. The whole kit is about $100 but I already had a filter adapter so I just needed the adapter for the engine.I used heavy duty fuel line for the hoses with push on connectors.

Re: B&S Project
I almost have this project buttoned up, but I'm confused about how to hook the battery to the motor and key switch. First of all this was an electric cart so I don't have any factory wiring in it. I got the kit from CPP so the switch is already connected to the motor. I did buy a factory ezgo solenoid and I have a battery. Could someone please explain what needs wired to where? Does one of the wires in the switch go to the solenoid or do I just hook up power and ground to the motor (which is what the instructions say)?

Re: B&S Project
If your kit came from Tom,just hook up battery and ground, should be marked or color coded

Re: B&S Project
I think the question is you are converting an electric to a gas cart and how do you run the ignition? First I would look at the simple early 4 stroke gas wiring diagrams here on site...
