Default Why not a Honda gx630?

Now i'm ready to do a big block swap and have found a cradle/trans/axle ... actually getting a rolling chassis. I'm not seeing much here about Honda V-Twins. What's up? Are there no performance parts for them or is the price too high?

The newer Honda engines are nice engines. They will run long and hard. The issue is that these new GX engines have the "governor" or Rev limiter built into the electrics/coil packs. There is no way to adjust or remove it. 3600 rpm max. Also, the heads and cylinders are 1 piece, making any adjust or repair quite difficult.
There are no real aftermarket parts for these engines.
So if you want a solid stock vtwin, reliable, then they will work for ya....but they are limited if your looking for more performance/upgrades.

With a $100 rev kit you can run a vanguard to 5K+ no problem, an otherwise stock engine just toss the governor. That gives you a lot more mph top speed should you need it at times, even if you don't mod the engine aside from the rev kit. All the rev kit does is keep it from floating the valves. Of course you can also get cams and all kinds of parts for vanguards, some for kohler some for kawasaki if you look hard enough. There were a few things for the old version of the honda v twin but this new one just shut everything down for aftermarket due to the changes they made.
