Default 1.5L 70hp Honda Civic engine going in limo

I've decided to power my next golf cart project with a Honda Civic engine and drive parts. I bought a good 5spd donor car today. Although I wanted an automatic this was a manual. Thats ok with me but it will need extra linkages built for the clutch and shifting. I have an EZGO limo frame which the build will be based on. I plan on reinforcing the frame and building a cage. The cart will have front and rear independent suspension. I probably will scrap the factory honda single control arm w/struts setup and replace it with upper and lower tubular arms. Its a project in the works. Lots of undecided things. Comments, suggestions?

Ted that looks really strong. I will have to cut the back half of the frame off where the rails begin to enter the engine bay for clearance. I'm going to weld two more tubes near along the outside of the chassis the full length of it.

I might use the honda stock control arms and suspension setup. I was looking it over and I think there's a way to mount everything up and have it work and look good.

Spent today yaanking the engine and other parts out. It looks huge sitting here but the dimensions are just within reason for it to be crammed under the golf cart body.

That's the idea and weight is hopefully a non issue. Technically it shouldn't be too much heavier than a V-twin golf cart when you subtract the weight of the golf cart rear end that will not be used. The frame will be strengthened, the front end will be an Aarm with dune buggy spindles, and the civic drive parts can already handle the mass of the car.

I drag race a Honda civic’s so I have tons of engines and parts sitting around, I have thought about doing a swap like this for a long time but the thing that always stumped me was how I would do the axles. You have any ideas for that yet? Let me know if you need any parts ill help you out if I can.

you could reuse the stock axles and the stock spindles. Just need to figure out how to do the attachment points
