My ezgo swap set up electric to gas
Hey all just like to share my swap from electric to 420cc hf set up so far I completely gutted the battery compartment and axle and threw it in the scrap pile I purchased an 84 club car axle online built and engine cradle ( still need to weld in the hiem joints and add a cross member for the cradle front attachment points. I did a 5" home brew block lift in the front and rear, added 2 1/2" wheel spacers and running 23x10x10's on SS wheels. Waiting on my clutch from vegas carts 780r.. then paint and interior

Re: My ezgo swap set up electric to gas
That is correct, has a fwd and reverse cable shift, part of the reason why I chose the axle for this swap

Re: My ezgo swap set up electric to gas
If anyone would like more information feel free to ask. I have a whole bunch of parts coming this week and next week, my clutch, shift cable new brake cables also some new seat covers. I'll be able to get everything mocked up then take it back apart and start on body work and paint

Re: My ezgo swap set up electric to gas
Update for my build, I receivered my clutch today I machined a motor mount plate to weld in my cradle. I did a lot of research online to do a forward reverse set up with cable lever set up I wouldn't be able to touch replacement parts for under 350$ from club car.. my genius idea was to order a 4" stroke 50lb dpdt linear actuator and 6 pin rocker switch, essentially I will have electric shifting - a neutral position. The actuator will throw 4" in less than 3 seconds. Being my clutch doesn't engage until 1900 rpm I think I can live without a neutral position but have the luxury of push button forward and reverse gear Will post more pictures after I'm done working in the hangars.

If you can manually bump it to neutral that is all you need anyway. Keep us up to date your not the only one that wonders about power shifters!
