Default lifan 15hp in G9 swap

hello this is my first post here. i have read many posts on this conversion! started with a 93 g9. i bought the cart cheap thinking it would be an easy fix, but after getting it to run i discovered a bad knock in the engine. took it apart and found the rod bearing shredded in pieces laying in the bottom! well after a LOT of reading and thinking, i decided to do the swap.

bought a lifan 15hp off amazon with 18 amp charging, a new comet 780 and a 32mm intake adapter with the vaccum port (vegas carts).

not too impressed with the lifan right off... the packaging is terrible. i have seen the predators come with wooden planks inthe box to keep it all togather. well lifan does not! the box arrived in the shape of a ball... luckily the only damage was a bent control panel. Also it did not come with the correct manual, there is no diagram for the charging system! And the wires Are not color coded. Also found out of dumb luck that the connectors on the harness do not have the pins in the right locations they are reversed so im at a total loss on how to wire up the engine. Not happy with lifan...

Comet clutch and intake adapter seem ok.

Anyway got the old motor out and made a mount for the new engine. Got it all bolted in and used a 42" ezgo belt 1 1/8th. Made an exhaust out of lawn mower parts (temporary).

Intake is holding me up now, the adapter puts the intake very close to the rear shock. I'm thinking about ordering a 90° boot? To turn it back behind the motor. Not sure what else to use to finish the intake any tips appreciated.

Overall pretty overwhelmed! Its a big job.

Make sure you check the bottom corners of the block where the mount holes are. There were a lot of shipping issues with poor packaging and cracked engine blocks.

Mine was in a big styrofoam formed piece and two boxes from home depot. Usually you hook the battery to the solenoid and everything is already hooked to it, other than the start terminal.

I posted what I did with the carb on your other thread, there are pics in my build of different ways its been set up. Yes its a tight fit. Another guy used a elbow for a plastic outside conduit connector to make a box on carb then ran the airbox off the tube connector on it. Its the part that goes on the side of an electrical box, it has a square body he cut the right shaped hole in to bolt on, then the top screws on the elbox/box to close it up. Some of this swap stuff you have to figure out, search around on here see what others did, do what works best for you. For me it was a car box, then I ran 2" pvc to front of the cart to avoid most of the dust.
