Motor Mounts
I have a 670 predator I'm getting ready to put in my cart, should I use the rubber motor mounts on it, or bolt it directly to the mounting plate?

Re: Motor Mounts
They do run a lot smoother but I still use them on v-twins, helps to eliminate all vibration. Car engines run smooth and still have rubber mounts.

Re: Motor Mounts
I bolted my 720cc V-twin to the sub frame and there is no adverse vibration.

Re: Motor Mounts
Thanks guys, I guess I'm a little afraid of breaking the engine case if the motor produces a lot of torque, my concerns may be unfounded. I guess I'm learning towards using the rubber mounts just as since of security. I do feel it will work without them, however my luck just isn't that good.

Re: Motor Mounts
I would use them, unless they are stock or for some reason you think they will fail. You can always put a tension cable or bolt on it. That just pulls against the belt you set it with a little slack so if the mounts move it comes tight, its mostly only in use when you floor it. It keeps proper distance between clutches and can save the mounts from full torque. Using stock mounts on my G9 with a modded clone and no issues.

Re: Motor Mounts
I hadn't thought about the belt issue, that's good information.

Re: Motor Mounts
I also rotated the engine away from the trans just a tiny bit as a preload for torque (using stock G9 mounts). The belt torque will pull the engine to the trans. But its a cart after all and I have others that use it for family use and they would not care for vibration and so on. If your cart is trail use only you are not going to care. This way my cart is virtually like stock other than it gets louder if you lead foot it, and it certainly has more power. Since I yard work, tow, trail ride, taxi, and any other use it is so nice to jump on the seat and off I go, no starting, no waiting, no nothing it just goes slow or fast like I want and feels mostly like a stock cart other than the lift/tires.
