Thanks my friend,if every thing goes south i will fix you up.In the mean time i will keep an eye out for parts for you and myself. Now would you say if it would be safe to run the clutch on the fan side shaft ? Thanks

The flywheel pto stub shaft is good for straight on pressure of a disc clutch like in a cub cadet. I would not put side pressure - the type needed to drive a cart on the flywheel side. The bearing on the flywheel end of the crank is not made for that type of use. It will turn a generator or alternator. I can't tell from the pics -- does the shaft bolt on or is it a continuous crankshaft?

I will look closer but i think it's continuous. My cub garden tractor gas a shaft on PTO and flywheel. The flywheel side runs the tractors drive.Pto is for clutch. This tractor has held up as of today for 28 years and counting. (14 hp kohler cub 1440)I'm going to run it for i have very little to lose. Thanks Alot.

It will run backwards if u run it on the flywheel side and plus like everyone has said there is no bearings on that side either

Ok if so i can always turn the shaft down.Let it run and hold a file to the shaft.LOL I can't see it running backwards for all i will be doing is mounting the engine on the left side, and not the right. The shaft will turn to the right pto or flywheel. Thanks

Can you read any identifying numbers off the block? Most V-twins run counter clockwise. They have larger bearings for the clutch side to handle the rotating mass. You will need a transaxle with a "shifting" f/r capability with the secondary clutch on the passenger side. Did any steering components come with that frame?
