Default Throttle Linkage...18hp briggs. NEED HELP

Ok, I have a Yamaha G9. Installed Briggs 18hp vanguard w/o govenor. Bought mounting bracket, wiring harness and clutch from CPP. (TOM ROCKS!!!...big fan here) Anyway, my motor has no govenor and doesn't have the remote throttle linkage as I'm sure you guys are aware of. I need to find a way or if someone has a bracket to hook up the throttle. On the stock carb there is no return spring for the throttle lever. I have the motor in, it fires, idles, rev's clutches work.....JUST MISSING a way to hook up throttle. Was thinking about putting string on it and driving it around like that just so I can drive it... lol jk. Thanks.

I posted links to a thread for the same motor I have but I don't know where Ron got the bracket, I'm assuming it came from CPP with the motor. any help would be appreciated.

18 hp b/s

Thanks.... almost there.

Yes, the bracket and return spring were included with the kit from CPP. I ran
the stock throttle cable right to the carb.

Sent you PM>

How did you hook up the stock yamaha throttle to the carb? Did you go through the cable that CPP supplied and attach to the end of it with the stock cable?

Pictures would be best if you have them.

I need to get a return spring which I spoke to Tom about and he stated that he hooks it to the nylon hole on the bottom of the carb / throttle lever and hooks that to a hole on the engine to pull the lever back.

My problem is on the stock yamaha cable it has that big metal clasp with the hole in it and that hole is too big to tap into the small throttle lever.

I don't have any pics of that right now. I cut the clasp off the stock cable.
Used a piece of sold wire (paper clip) on the lever and joined that to the cable
with a cable coupling (small sleeve with a set screw). Works great!!!!
