Default 89 Club Car BB Engine swap & more

20170628_140508.jpg

Ordered the Big Block Engine Kit from VC today. Thought I would do some research before it shows up in a couple weeks. I ordered complete kit with clutches and longer throttle cable. Is there anything else I might need to get or do to be ready. I am strongly thinking of getting Jakes long travel suspension and disc brakes. I have the Jakes 6" lift on my Yamaha and it looks great but rides rough for this old man.
Any and all advice and recommendations is appreciated.
I first posted this under gas Club Car then it was recommended I post here

Think about inspect and cleaning your starter generator. Inspect/replace your fuel pump and check your batter. As far as installing the engine in your cart, everything comes in the kit. The disc brake set up is a good idea.

Let is know if you need help!

What is the recommended fuel pump for the VC BB. I see many different brands on Amazon.

if there is nothing wrong with your old fuel pump why replace it? you will probably need a bypass for the fuel pump..

I don't know. Replace fuel pump has been recommended. I am unsure of condition of fuel pump on cart because engine was seized when I bought it.

After spending the money to buy a high performance engine plus all the other parts to install it -- not replacing the fuel pump would be a bad idea. There cheap and you know -- if you have any problems it won't be lack of fuel. Yes you will need a by-pass to keep the pressure on the carburetor low.
Here's a site that has a lot of useful info.
