All about that rear end
I didn't know where else to post this question so I put it in here because my next project will be another bb for sure.
I have been on the hunt for a new project and I want it to be a decent platform to build on with good aftermarket options and most important a F/R REAR END. I thought I would ask if I could get a breakdown on what make and models fit that criteria. Keeping in mind I will be looking more at the older non-running beaters that I can pick up cheaply. |

My personal experience with going old/beater is that in the end it was expensive as many of the parts needed to be replaced. And then there was part availability. When I was looking last Fall, I focused my time on a newer cart that had a blown engine. I got one for $500 and sold the engine for more than half of what I paid. Most of everything on the cart was in good shape and I've had no issues getting the few parts I need. |

Re: All about that rear end
Yes start with something new enough to have a 4 stroke engine. Then maybe when you get done its worth more then you have in it! LOL
My last cart I started with a 1996 EZGO bad shape and blown engine for $250, real good deal, I haven't been able to find any more at that price anyway. Seem to be running $500-800 now. Parts for are easy to locate and lots of used parts from CL. I used parts as new as 2006 that still worked on a 96. I spent $1800 on it, but I think it will bring $4-4500 My buddy just bought an old rebuild 80's cart with a sled engine for $2300 not bad since the guy said he had almost $5000 in it! |

Wow that was a nice find and a great build.
I am not set on an older cart so much as something in the $500 range. |
