Comet clutch question
Would a Comet 302647C work fine with a 420 lifan? It's the right bore and but I don't know about this specific model. Any input would be great

Re: Comet clutch question
I checked the part number and there's no info on rpm or much of anything. I'd just buy a new 780 off of ebay where they tell you the specs of the model your buying.

Re: Comet clutch question
Yea, I had the same issue when trying to research it. Looks like a 780 with a dust shield but looks can often be deceiving!

Re: Comet clutch question
780 with custom engagement. Hard to say, you need to find what it is for and what engine. I got a 94c for an ezgo and ended up buying spring and weights to get it like I want. Its pretty close now.

Re: Comet clutch question
Well I have that messed up 780 but the springs and weights are fine. How hard is it to swap everything over?

Re: Comet clutch question
I don't know, not worked on a 780. Most not too bad but some you need a special tool or make a tool.

I did more checking and the specs are 1" bore -- 1/4" keyway - 1-3/16" belt and engagement at 1700 rpm. It's obsolete and has been replaced by the one listed below. http://beltpalace.com/comet302405a.html |

Re: Comet clutch question
Just look up what engines are in those, likely lawn based, in that case it should work well for a stock application.
