Anyone know what the correct belt size is needed with clutch distance?
I was wondering if anyone knows how to calculate the belt size with the primary and secondary distances? The distance between center of each is 12".
Thanks |

Re: Anyone know what the correct belt size is needed with clutch distance?
On my big block build I discovered a method.
Use a cloth tape or mark a cloths-line cord when wrapped around the center shaft of the engine clutch and the outer most edge of the rear clutch and add 2 inches. |

Re: Anyone know what the correct belt size is needed with clutch distance?
In my build thread for a G9 with stock clutches at the time I said 2.5" between sheaves or a hair over. IIRC I cut a piece of wood that size and put between to check distance. That was using a stock G9 belt that is 39" OD I think. But if you have different clutch the diameter could change.

I have a 780 comet clutch on the stock secondary clutch.
