Default Starting the electric to gas conversion with the Predator 670.....

Tired of buying batteries so I've decided to take my '86 Club Car and convert it to a gas powered cart. I picked up a '82 Yamaha G1 to use as a donor to build a swing arm style drive line and plan on using a comet 780 clutch with the G1 driven clutch. The Predator sits in between the frame rails of the Club Car much tighter tan I anticipated and will have a fair amount of shoe horning to do but once I get the motor set does anyone have a link to a site that sells drive belts and what are the measuring tricks? I see that Vegas carts advertises the correct belt length for a v-twin swap into a G2 but gives no dimensions, would this be a starting point. Maybe someone form VC can chime in?
don't mind the rust since I'm just in the mock up stage right now. It will be all pulled apart and prettied up after I get it to fit, lol!!

Thanks in advance....

Not sure if you are telling me it "can be" or asking if it "can be" here?

Aluminum can be welded to aluminum. Steel will have to be bolted. Curious. How often were you buying batts? When I bought my sparky I calculated just over 2 years of buying gas, [my cart runs everyday] pays for them. The next 4 years or so, [batts last longer in our northern climate] is gravy. That doesn't include maintenance on a gas engine or belts ect.

Yes I am using steel weld plates bolted to the aluminum frame to attach the steel parts borrowed from the G1.
2 to 2.5 years of use on a set of batteries is about what I averaged. I use the cart at campgrounds and as a pit cart to tow my drag car at the race track as well and it always seemed to accelerate the life. The gas motor will be a great improvement for the job.

WOW! What kind of batts were you using? Sure sounds like a short life.
